There were two things it had to have: a reliable Miyota 2035 Quartz movement and at least 5 ATM (150 feet) of water resistance, so you could shower or jump in the pool without worrying about it.

The rest of the specifications are solid: an alloy case, hardened mineral glass crystal, lumed hands, and a rugged nylon strap that is easy to interchange.

The standard one-year warranty applies to these watches and covers manufacturing defects. The hardened mineral glass crystal and alloy case may show signs of wear, scratches, or patina through normal use, which are considered part of ownership and are not covered under warranty. Likewise, while the QL1 is rated to 5 ATM water resistance and is suitable for everyday water exposure such as hand washing, showers, and brief immersion, prolonged underwater use is not recommended and is not covered under warranty.
